EGSC are about to start the reactivation of the laneway between Gray Street and the Esplanade in Lakes Entrance. Many conversations with local community groups and organisations have happened so that the EGSC can develop a plan for the greening and beautification of this space.
Results of a Vox Pop Survey in Lakes Entrance in October told Shire Officers that the community wants to see lighting, seating and creation of a social meeting place that is welcoming and green.
The Laneway design includes:-
Lighting – enabling people to use this connection point at night.
Seating – to encourage people tosit within the space and enjoy the art work and support people with mobility restrictions to use this pedestrian access.
Planters – Planter boxes to create a green connection the the Esplanade. These will be produced by the Lakes Entrance Secondary College VCAL students.
Artwork – Two aret projects – Love Lakes Community Mural and Six Panels – commence in December 2016 and finish in March 2017.
